This is OUR Community Walk and Open House Meeting

Community comes together and rallies

On Thursday March 24th we came together, community leaders and Ottawa Police, to engage in discussions with regards to community safety in light of the recent homicide on Jasmine Crescent.

The meeting was very productive and we will work together as a community to create a safety network that can reach thousands of residents. 30,000+ Social media touch points and 15,000+ email contacts now tie this community together.

This is something that can serve as a model for the City of Ottawa. There were many good ideas and a great deal of support for the information that the Councillor had already brought forward to the Police Chief (Recreation programs, New School programs, pop-up policing, examining CCTV, etc.).

“We have an amazing community and together, we won’t let the actions of a few destroy it!” said Councillor Tim Tierney

Please come join your neighbours on Sunday, April 10th at 2pm at Lester B. Pearson High School (2072 Jasmine Crescent) for a “This is OUR community” walk to Gloucester High School.

At the conclusion of the walk, various community leaders will be onsite in the Gloucester High School lobby (2060 Ogilvie) from 2:30pm-4:00pm. This will be an open house meeting for members of the community to meet and discuss their ideas with Councillor Tierney, Crime Prevention Ottawa and the Ottawa Police Service.
